Unit Information

• Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby
• L&D Beds: 10
• OR Suites for C-Sections: 2
• Triage Beds: 2
• Postpartum Beds: Same as L&D (LDRP model)
• Births: Approximately 35 per month
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: Follows AWHONN guidelines
• Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse takes an assignment
• Nurse Aids/Surgical Techs: None on unit
• OB/Neonatologist: Not in-house 24/7
• Anesthesia: Not in-house 24/7, available within 30 minutes
• Respiratory Therapy Equipment: Available (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)
• Telemetry/Monitor Techs: None; RNs read their own strips
• EFM System: Centricity

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience & Skills

• Must be able to function as a circulator
• RNs are required to titrate drips (common drips include Pitocin, variable rates)
• Experience with antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum (couplet care), triage, and circulating C-sections
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Additional Notes

• Week of orientation requires clinicians to be in-state, even if some modules are remote
• Radius requirement: 60 miles (driver’s license must be submitted)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced LDRP RN in Kansas, working 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends and call requirements.
