Overview

• Travel contract in Washington, Silverdale.
• 13-week assignment.
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours.

Unit Details

• ER/Trauma Center.
• 56 beds/trauma bays, with hall beds bringing capacity to 60–70.
• Fast track: 6 beds.
• Separate triage area with 5 beds.
• 18 ED beds designated for inpatient holds.
• Locked hall with 6 private treatment rooms.
• Approximately 170–200 patients per day.
• Ratios: 1:3, or 1:4 for low acuity.

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS.
• Active ACLS.
• Active TNCC.
• Active PALS or ENPC.
• WA License or Compact License.
• 2 full years of experience.
• Experience in larger trauma settings; 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting may be accepted.

Preferred

• NIHSS.

Scheduling / Work Expectations

• Must work holidays in November and December; manager may consider 1 of the 3 holidays if it does not conflict with unit demands.
• Weekend schedule is based on unit needs/demands.
• No call or standby requirement.
• No floating.
• No RTO for the first full week of the assignment.

Unit Resources / Workflow

• ED physicians and mid-levels: yes.
• Charge nurse/house supervisor: yes.
• ED Techs and CNAs support 1:1 sitters.
• Epic used as EMR.
• RTs manage vents, CPap, Bipap, and other RT equipment; RTs also complete ABGs.
• ED Techs do EKGs.
• Radiology is adjacent to the ED; transport assists with patient movement as able.
• Nurse or ED Tech draws blood primarily; lab assists when difficult.
• Monitor techs: yes.
• RNs read strips: yes.
