Telemetry Nurse

Location

• Oxnard, California

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Travel contract
• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2 full years of experience
• Experience with drips

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience preferred
• Experience with chest tubes preferred

Work Setting

• Float pool role
• Telemetry unit
• High-acuity patient population
• May float to telemetry, med-surg, ER holds, and another nearby facility
• Must be able to read telemetry strips

Unit Details

• 31-bed telemetry unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Charge nurse present
• Nurse aides available depending on census
• No IV team
• RT available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7

Schedule and Coverage

• Weekend shifts required
• One major and one minor holiday required
• No block scheduling

Patient Population

• Pneumonia
• End-stage renal disease
• Post-cath lab patients
• Respiratory distress
• CHF
• COPD
