DON (Director of Nursing)

Overview

• Long Term Care leadership role responsible for overall clinical operations, resident care services, and administrative on-call coverage.
• Shift: Days, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with possible rotating weekends.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in Michigan.
• Director of Nursing experience within the last year.
• 3 years of Director of Nursing experience.
• Experience in an Acute Care or Long Term Care setting.
• Experience in supervisory roles.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining departmental budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct resident care services for the Long Term Care unit.
• Share administrative on-call coverage and serve as Administrator on Call for LTC in rotation.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
• Create and implement annual operating and budget plans.
• Analyze work processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Hire, coach, and evaluate departmental staff.
• Maintain the QA/PI program and lead monthly meetings.
• Supervise nursing and administrative staff in the Long Term Care unit.
