Registered Nurse — Emergency Department

Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract

• 26 weeks
• Local placements accepted within 50 miles

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Evening shift
• Every other weekend
• Holidays required based on department needs
• No call requirement
• Travelers are scheduled by the scheduling manager; time-off requests may be reviewed and approved or denied based on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS
• ACLS
• ENPC or PALS
• TNCC or TNS
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen
• 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred

Clinical Setting

• Level 1 emergency department
• 65 private beds
• Typical patient population ranges from newborns to elderly, including critically ill, stroke, heart attack, and trauma patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–5, depending on acuity
• Nurses should be able to interpret and act on rhythms
• Common drips include vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications

Additional Notes

• Non-billable orientation: 12 hours
• Floating is rare and, if needed, would be as a help-all on another unit
• No specific scrub color required
