Respiratory Therapist

Location

• Princeton, West Virginia

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• West Virginia respiratory therapist license
• 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Adult inpatient experience
• Experience with vents, ABGs, BiPAP, infant vents/CPAP, resuscitation, and EKGs
• ACLS
• BLS
• CRT via NBRC
• NRP
• PALS
• STABLE certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric experience

Work Setting / Duties

• Inpatient areas and the emergency department
• Outpatient and inpatient EKGs
• Outpatient bronchoscopy in a procedural setting
• Breathing treatments
• Vent management
• ABG collection and sample processing
• Assist with intubation only
• May place arterial lines
• May be called to initiate CPAP on an infant

Schedule / Operations

• Set schedules made 4 weeks at a time
• No call or standby call
• Floating within the facility only
• Travelers are not required to cover sleep lab, pulmonary rehab, or cardiac rehab
• Travelers will not be required to do critical care transport outside the facility

Orientation

• General orientation on day 1
• Classroom orientation and modules on day 2
• About 3 days of shadowing with a preceptor after modules are completed

Additional Notes

• Open ICU
• Hospitalist in house 24/7
• Second interview required
• Professional scrubs in any color
• No long nails
• Men must be clean shaven
