ICU Registered Nurse — Travel Assignment

Overview

• Travel ICU RN position in Redding, California
• 13-week assignment
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS and ACLS
• 2+ years of ICU experience
• Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies
• Trauma experience
• Experience titrating vasopressors and sedation drips
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
• Must be open to floating to PCU, CICU, telemetry, and med-surg units

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS
• Previous travel experience

Unit Details

• ICU / Trauma ICU
• 30 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2
• Intensivist available 24/7
• Respiratory therapy assigned to the ICU 24/7
• One unit tech for the unit

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Self-scheduling is not finalized until manager review
• No block scheduling
• Travelers may be moved first if schedule changes are needed
• No call or standby requirement for travelers
• Holiday time off will be considered but not guaranteed
• Fast-paced unit with a strong expectation to work independently and ask for help when needed

Orientation and Dress Code

• One day of unit orientation, with more provided if needed
• Navy scrubs required
