Radiation Therapist - Oncology

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Description

Independently perform a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and fabrication of specialized treatment aides according to physician prescriptions and instructions.
Provide care tailored to patients' age-specific needs, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
Proficient operation of Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR system.
Treat 25-30 patients per day.
Treatment modalities include 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
Set-ups cover all treatment sites in a comprehensive cancer center.
Work on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

Valid Radiation Therapist license in Hawaii.
Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience as a Radiation Therapist and imaging technologist/specialist, with at least some experience within the last year.
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Electronic Medical Record system will transition to Epic starting November 1, 2025.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
