Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER and Med Surg Night Shift

Location: Fairfield, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
• Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
• Maintain professional nursing standards.

Schedule

• Monday and Tuesday: 6 PM to 6 AM in Emergency Room (ER)
• One 12-hour night shift per week on Medical/Surgical unit

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Experience preferred but not required

Employment & Health Requirements (must be completed prior to start)

• Resume and two recent employment references
• Online verification of licensure/certification including expiration and disciplinary status within 30 days of start
• Copies of required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Immunizations:

  • MMR (2 doses or positive titers)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Polio
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Current TDaP (within 10 years)
  • Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold test (if positive, provide chest x-ray results)
• Physical exam within 1 year
• 10 Panel Drug Screen within 1 month
• Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (can be provided if unavailable)
• Criminal background checks for all states of licensure and residence in past 7 years
• National and/or state sex offender registry check
• Federal exclusion list checks (GSA, OIG, Sam.gov)
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse)
• Completion of CareLearning education modules prior to start (including Mandatory Reporter if not already certified)

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
• Experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• This is a night shift position covering ER and Med Surg units.

This opportunity is suitable for RNs licensed in Iowa who meet the certification and health requirements and are interested in a 13-week contract with a defined night shift schedule.
