Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cath Lab, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, assess and develop care plans, and focus on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. The role includes mentoring and precepting staff, applying evidence-based practice, and participating in quality and safety improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to staff, mentor and precept team members, encourage teamwork, and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in regulatory compliance and Practice Governance activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (highest required years of experience).
• Experience with procedures including:

  • Left and right diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations
  • Pacemaker and AICD implants
  • Loop recorders, Impellas, balloon pumps
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, tilt tables
  • STEMI patient care
  • Peripheral IV access
• Patient ratio typically 1:1.
• Familiarity with equipment such as IV pumps, groin and radial sheaths, Impellas, balloon pumps, IVUS, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, Zoll monitor, and hemodynamic systems.
• Experience with EPIC charting system.
