Job Opportunity: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Eloy, Arizona

Contract Length: 6 months

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for performing basic nursing duties including:

• Executing physician orders
• Operating pill call and sick call
• Assisting physicians in examinations and treatments
• Performing technical/clinical procedures within the scope of LPN licensure
• Managing medication dispensing and documentation
• Maintaining medical supplies and equipment inventory
• Performing emergency procedures as needed
• Documenting and reporting activities according to policies

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating medical services to prevent duplication or inappropriate use
• Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records
• Observe and record inmate/resident behavior
• Inspect medical unit for contraband and safely store or dispose of supplies
• Prepare and maintain various medical and operational records and reports
• Interpret medical and legal documents related to patient care
• Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and visitors
• Support accreditation efforts (NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO) by providing appropriate medical services
• Prepare safety and accident reports and respond to serious incidents or emergencies
• Escort or coordinate movement of inmates/residents for medical treatment
• Assist in investigations and disciplinary actions as needed
• Work rotating shifts and perform security checks in confined areas
• Handle potentially hostile environments with tact and good judgment

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Must hold a valid LPN license in the state of Arizona
• Valid driver's license required

Experience Requirements

• No specific years of LPN experience stated
• No prior travel experience required
