Surgical Tech - Travel Position

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Travel

Position Overview

• Assist the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to ensure an optimal peri-operative experience.
• Requires knowledge of anatomy, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and sterile technique.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital-approved Surgical Technician program.
• Certification preferred.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Additional specialty certification/training as required by the specific work area.

Experience & Competencies

• Competency in multiple surgical specialties including:

  • Otorhinolaryngology
  • General Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Neurology
  • Orthopedics
  • Cardiovascular
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical procedure orientation, and equipment operation and care.
• Understands patient and staff safety recommendations.

Physical & Work Environment Considerations

• Ability to react rapidly and accurately.
• Commitment to quality patient care.
• Effective communication and teamwork with various personnel levels.
• Standing and walking for the majority of the work schedule.
• Moderate to heavy lifting required.
• Exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals, and x-ray.
