RN UP - Endoscopy Surgery
Location: Peoria, Illinois Employment Type: Clinical-Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Role Overview
Member of the interdisciplinary team providing nursing care through the nursing process, including assessment, individualized plans of care, evidence-based practice, and patient bedside lab testing. Responsibilities include:
- Assessing patients through interview, observation, and physical assessment, and reassessing as patient condition changes
- Developing and modifying individualized plans of care with patients, families, and the care team
- Documenting patient progress, patient charts, and event reports
- Performing patient bedside lab testing and quality control per provider orders and lab policies
- Assuming non-complex and some complex patient assignments, with some turnover
- Prioritizing work and delegating tasks appropriately
- Advocating with physicians on patient's behalf when necessary
- Giving goal-focused shift report
- Adhering to assigned weekly, weekend, and holiday call shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Endoscopy experience (3 years)
- Endoscopy experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Experience with EGDs
- Experience with colonoscopies
- Experience with ERCPs
- Experience with EUS
- Experience with bronchoscopies
- Experience with EBUS
- Experience with ION cases
- Patient bedside lab testing experience
