• Local Candidates: Not accepted (40-mile radius rule)
• Float Requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2-hour notice for cross-campus float.
• On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
• Covid-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change)

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year

Patient Population

• Chest pain, abdominal pain, flank pain, CVA/TIA, generalized weakness, awaiting placement, geri-psych placement.

Skills Required

• PIV insertion
• Stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix)
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 32 beds
• Patient Ratio:

  • Days: 1:4-5
  • Nights: 1:5-7
• Support Staff: Excellent LPN and CNA support; CN rarely takes patients on days but takes assignments on NOC shifts.

Unit Strengths

• Excellent teamwork with support from LPNs and CNAs.
• Candidates should be hard workers, resilient, and able to manage change well.

Additional Notes

• Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs (no competing health systems or agency logos)
• Teaching hospital; may require precepting of students and new hires.
• Three call-ins can result in termination.
