Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 4/20/2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, day/night variable (7a-7p / 7p-7a)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Float: Required to float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments
• On Call/Call Back: May be placed on call during low census; minimum 2-hour call back pay

Unit & Work Environment

• Post Surgical Care Unit (PSCU) - 40 bed inpatient area
• Care for pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:

  • Day/PM: 1:4 or 1:5
  • Night: 1:5 to 1:7
• Fast-paced unit with 10-15 admissions per day, occupancy 90-95% during the week
• Average length of stay: 2-3 days (except joint patients)
• Ability to multitask, prioritize patient care based on acuity, and work as a team is essential
• Scrub color: Any

Required Qualifications

• License: Wisconsin RN License
• Certifications: BLS
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years Medical-Surgical nursing experience
  • Recent hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Required
• Charting: Epic EMR experience required
• Equipment: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps

Additional Information

• Radius rule: Contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Low census hours (up to 36 hours) are unbillable; travelers may be placed on call during these hours with call back pay if called in
• Flu season policy: Travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy; non-compliance may result in corrective action

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical RNs with trauma experience and prior travel assignments who are comfortable working in a fast-paced post-surgical inpatient setting.
