Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• Start date: ASAP
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Primary location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital
• Unit: Surg Tech Birthing Center-L&D
• 1 OR for L&D
• Float requirements: None
• On call: Rarely asked to take call
• Weekend/holiday: Every 3rd weekend; blackout dates are Christmas and New Year’s

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• CST license required; NBSTSA or NCCT accepted
• Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program
• 1 year OB setting experience
• First-time traveler accepted with 2 years’ experience
• Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a surgical technologist program

Required Skills

• OB
• C-Section
• C.N.A support

Unit Details

• Only C-section cases, both planned and emergent
• Average 3-4 cases a day
• Will assist with transport from room to OR
• Able to do C.N.A. work between cases
• Tech for vaginal deliveries
• C.N.A. duties on the floor include vital signs, ambulating, stocking, and baby baths
• Help with circumcision procedures, both set up and take down
• Utilized Jada system for hemorrhage

• 36 hours of low census unbillable hours are included
• Travelers may be put on call during low census hours and receive call-back pay if called back in
• Guaranteed hours are not guaranteed the week of orientation
• Guaranteed hours may not apply during holidays when the unit is closed
