CVOR Nurse Opportunity - Brooklyn, New York

Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Description

Level-1 Adult Trauma, Pediatric Level-2 Trauma
Main OR with 15+ operating rooms at a major academic medical center
3 cardiothoracic operating room suites within a 15 multi-specialty OR complex

Work Schedule & Requirements

Call shifts required if needed
- Night shifts: 8 hours (11 PM - 7 AM) on weekdays
- Weekend call shifts: 8 hours (7 AM - 3 PM; 3 PM - 11 PM; 11 PM - 7 AM)
- Holiday call shifts: same as weekend call shifts
No floating to other units

Cases & Procedures

Wide range of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries including:
- Open and hybrid procedures
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Valve replacements
- Aneurysm repairs
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs)
- ECMO, Impella, Heartmate devices
- Lead extractions
- LVAD awareness

Experience & Certifications

Minimum 4 years of CVOR and open heart surgery experience
Must have both scrub and circulating experience
Previous travel experience required
Certifications required:
- Active New York RN License
- Valid ACLS and BLS
Other certifications are welcome but not required
