Registered Nurse – Critical Care (Neurosurgical ICU)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)

Unit Description

• 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU
• Patient population includes acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), seizures, and post-surgical patients
• Care involves invasive intracranial pressure monitoring, frequent neurological assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, and routine CT, MRI, and angiography
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2-3:1
• May require floating to other ICUs or step-down units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Neuro ICU experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid Driver's License

Work Environment and Assignments

• Patient acuity is high with complex neurological and neurosurgical cases
• May be required to float to other ICU or step-down units as needed
• Assignments typically 2-3 patients per nurse

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs comfortable with neurosurgical ICU patients and complex neurological monitoring. Compliance with detailed credentialing, immunization, and background requirements is mandatory.
