Job Opportunity: RN Cardiac Cath Pre/Post

Location

  • Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care for patients undergoing catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Pre-procedure assessment
    • Managing vascular access and device implant sites (radial, femoral, IJ, device pockets)
    • Administering medications as needed
    • Assisting with cardioversions
    • Monitoring vital signs and ECGs
    • Providing post-procedure discharge education

Shift

  • 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • American Heart Association ACLS certification

Required Certifications and Health Requirements

  • BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
  • COVID-19 vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemption accepted
  • MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster schedule
  • Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster schedule
  • Tdap: Vaccination within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years
  • Influenza vaccine: Optional; if declined during flu season, masking and specific forms required
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative within last 6 months; annual requirement
  • Fit test for N95 respirators: Completed within 1 year; updated annually
  • Physical exam: Completed within 1 year prior to start, confirming ability to work without restrictions

Background and Verification Requirements

  • Professional license and certification primary source verification within 30 days prior to start; reverified every 2 years with license renewal
  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including social security trace and county searches for last 7 years, national sex offender registry, and OIG exclusion check
  • Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable based on residency duration
  • Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party verification
  • Education verification through third-party; international education requires equivalency documentation
  • Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
  • I-9 attestation confirming eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Completion of safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal required

Skills and Competency Testing

  • Skills checklist specific to clinical role completed within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement)
  • Competency exam for relevant department with minimum 80% score (one-time requirement)
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score (one-time requirement)

Additional Requirements

  • Non-expired photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Badge photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background, JPEG format)
