Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry I
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (default assumption for RN Telemetry I roles unless otherwise specified)
- Schedule: Must be able to work every other weekend and holidays
- Uniform: Black scrubs required
- Education: Accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) - required at submission
- ACLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) - required at submission
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) - required prior to start
- Licensure:
- Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
- Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start
- Competency & Testing:
- Unit-specific competency exam (passing score required, updated annually)
- Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- EKG and Telemetry exams (passing score 80%+, updated annually)
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (updated annually)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Fully vaccinated (2 doses if applicable); medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case
- MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Titer or proof of complete 3-series vaccine; signed declinations accepted
- Influenza Vaccine: Required October-April; medical or religious exemptions require agency approval
- Tuberculosis Testing:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) negative results required
- Annual TB questionnaire (Summa form) required
- If positive PPD, negative chest X-ray within 1 year required
- Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Within 10 years of start; optional but recommended
- Fit Test: Required for all patient-facing positions; must be current within 1 year
- Health Statement: Pre-employment physical within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
Background & Screening
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search) within 90 days of start
- OIG, EPLS, and other federal exclusion checks within 90 days of start
- Education verification through third-party
- Social Security Card or number required
- Valid government-issued photo ID required
Additional Notes
- Resume must include details of Epic EMR usage for each job in the past 12 months
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at submission; maximum 7 days allowed
