Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)

Job Overview

• Provide nursing care in the Cardiovascular Unit, which treats over 4,000 cardiology patients annually.
• Patient care includes post-op open heart surgery (18-24 hours post-op), congestive heart failure, electrophysiology studies, and advanced cardiac procedures (PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers).
• The unit has received a Silver level Beacon Award and is recognized for exceptional patient care.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 1+ year ICU experience (floating experience does NOT count).
• EKG experience is required.
• Must be willing to float to similar units.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Neuro, CVICU, Trauma units.
• Managing ventilators.
• CRRT and balloon pumps.

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Licensure

• Active Michigan RN license required at time of submission.
• License verification through LARA and Nursys required.
• If there is a license issue, a written explanation is recommended for review.

Other Requirements

• Skills checklist completed within one year of application (required for RN specialties).
• References are NOT required.
• Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.

Additional Information

• Strict 3-strike attendance policy: 3 absences or late arrivals (over 20 minutes) may result in immediate termination, with exceptions for documented illness or hospitalization.
