Job Opportunity: Supervisor - Central Sterile Processing

Location: Lima, Ohio
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Oversee and direct the Central Sterile Processing department to ensure effective cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of reusable medical and surgical instruments used in Surgery and other hospital areas.
• Manage Central Sterile staff, material resources, and inventory.
• Provide educational opportunities, retraining, and in-services for staff.
• Enforce policies, procedures, and standards by collaborating with Infection Control, Risk Management, and Safety teams.
• Ensure department compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and recommended standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies/practices.
• Manage distribution and follow-up of FDA/Manufacturer recall notices.
• Ensure accuracy of patient charges processed through Central Sterile.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of Supervisor/Leader experience (required)
• Certifications:

  • Active Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification (required)
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Other:

  • Must be local or in close proximity to Lima, OH
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with physicians and associates
  • Demonstrated history of effective team building, fostering a Culture of Safety, and leading positive change
  • Strong numeric and basic computer skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Central Sterile department operations
  • Current work history and skills checklist pertinent to the specialty (within 1 year)

• Facility provides scrubs

• Travelers may be required to float within their scope of practice; refusal may result in being sent home without pay for the week

Summary
