Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Temp Position

Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assist the Physical Therapist in treating patients of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care.
• Implement components of patient care and obtain data related to treatments.
• Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to modify care plans as needed.
• Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups.
• Work directly with the Physical Therapist to assist patients.
• Communicate with families to identify effective at-home care techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area.
• Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas.
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.
• Teach patients techniques including balance training.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
• Valid PTA license.
• Submission of work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), references, license verification, and certifications is required.
