Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Temp Position
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Assist the Physical Therapist in treating patients of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care.
- Implement components of patient care and obtain data related to treatments.
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to modify care plans as needed.
- Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups.
- Work directly with the Physical Therapist to assist patients.
- Communicate with families to identify effective at-home care techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area.
- Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas.
- Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.
- Teach patients techniques including balance training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
- Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
- Valid PTA license.
- Submission of work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), references, license verification, and certifications is required.
