Job Description
Seeking Occupational Therapists with pediatric experience beyond developmental therapy. Experience treating patients with chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal issues is preferred. The role involves working within a Pediatric and Young Adult Pain Rehabilitation Program using a Day Habilitation Model of care. This is a team-based approach alongside Physical Therapy, Nursing, Medicine, Psychology, Recreation Therapy, and Social Work.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts OT license must be in hand prior to start
- Experience with pediatric patients and chronic pain management preferred
- Proof of name change documentation if applicable
- Background check compliant with a 10-year criminal history within 6 months prior to start
- Required certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred (depending on unit)
- Professional references: 2 verified from 2 of the last 3 employers
- Employment application with 10-year work history and explanation for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist specific to scope of practice within 1 year prior to start
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Massachusetts CORI release form for statewide background check
- Various background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Health requirements including:
- Physical exam within 1 year, cleared to work with no restrictions
- Immunizations and/or titers for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB testing
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (deadline November 14)
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption; seasonal COVID vaccine preferred
- Drug screening (9 panel) within last 12 months (not required for advanced practice nurses)
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety questionnaire and clearance required annually)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training required for behavioral health roles (if applicable)
- Verification of professional certification within 30 days prior to start
