Clinical Lab Scientist - Travel/Contract

Location: Madera, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Evening (5 days per week, 8 hours per day) from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
• Total Hours per Week: 40
• Must work every other weekend
• Microbiology experience is a plus but not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience within the last year

Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA Healthcare Provider required
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable (passing score 80%+)
• Competency Exam required as applicable (passing score 80%+)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, including:

  • All counties lived or worked
  • Sex offender registry check (all aliases in SSN trace)
  • Education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Copy of diploma/transcripts or education verification required (may start pending verification)
• Primary source verification of state license required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Fit test for respirator mask within 6 months of start (acceptable masks: 3M 1860 or Ameritech Progear, size required)
• Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 30 days or 1 year of start; facility may administer second PPD onsite
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 6 months of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-April 1)
• COVID vaccines preferred but not required

Additional Notes

• Respirator clearance form no longer required as of 12/13/24 if not already completed
• If unable to complete fit test prior to start, can be scheduled onsite (cost billed to agency)
• No annual background check required by facility, but agency requires annual background check for direct candidates
• Physical exam required only for agency placements, not subcontractors
