Clinical Lab Scientist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Redlands, California
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each)
Hours per week: 40 hours

Job Summary

• Perform clinical laboratory duties in a community hospital setting.
• Orientation: 36-48 hours (may extend as needed).
• Use specialized equipment including XN-2000, UN-3000, Stago COMPACT MAX, Biofire, Cepheid, Echo.
• Documentation via Meditech Expanse.
• Dress code: Business casual with lab coat (lab coat provided).
• First-time travelers are welcome.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California.
• Minimum 3 years of Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience, including experience within the last year.
• ASCP-MLS certification.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks.

Required Compliance and Documentation

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (passport acceptable in lieu of driver’s license).
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide, sex offender, and international if applicable.
• Drug screening: 10-panel including THC within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within last 12 months, updated annually.
• Fit mask testing with approved respirators; no facial hair allowed that interferes with seal.
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or T-Spot within 90 days). Past positives require additional documentation.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella titers or vaccinations within 90 days. Declinations require proof of low titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination by October 31; mask required if declining.
  • COVID vaccination plus 1 booster or approved exemption.
• Annual competency exams and skills checklist.
• Signed acknowledgments for safety manual, abuse reporting, confidentiality, code of conduct, employee handbook, sexual harassment, and other facility-specific policies.
• Photo for badge following facility dress code guidelines (natural hair colors, no visible face piercings or tattoos, white/off-white background).

• Prior travel experience is not required.
• Orientation and training hours may vary based on individual needs.
• This is a night shift position with 4 shifts of 10 hours each per week.
