Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fullerton, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide expert Labor and Delivery nursing care with the ability to perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision.
• Must have experience with sterile vaginal exams and triage; candidates unable to meet these requirements will not be considered.
• Use of EPIC electronic health record system is required.
• Patient ratio typically 1:2.
• May be required to float to mother-baby units.
• Weekend work is mandatory, generally every other weekend but may exceed this to meet unit needs.
• Scheduling requests due to additional employment will not be considered.
• Open to accommodating block schedules at manager’s discretion.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in California (pending licenses are not accepted).
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision.
• Certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

• Local radius for candidates is 50 miles.
• Facility is an acute care hospital with approximately 320 staffed beds.
• Charting system used: Meditech.
• Free parking available.
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
• On-call duties are not required.
• Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission.

Notes

• First-time travel nurses are accepted for this position.
• Scrub colors vary by role; RN scrub color is royal blue.
• Candidates must be able to start as soon as possible.
