Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Unit Description
- Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) – 20-bed critical care unit for critically ill patients
- Patient conditions include respiratory failure, acute/chronic kidney failure, liver failure, overdoses, septic shock
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2-3 (days and nights)
- Frequent floating required within scope to various units including neuro, trauma, observation, and others
- Drip management required on all floors
- Charting system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license valid in Nebraska (pending license accepted but must be in hand before start; booking delayed if not)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital (higher experience requirement applies)
- First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Must be nicotine-free (100% nicotine-free facility)
- Must be willing and able to float frequently to meet staffing needs
- Locals not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)
Scheduling & Work Requirements
- Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (days: Sat/Sun; nights: Fri/Sat)
- Holiday requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Up to 2 weeks permitted, requests must be submitted with application
Uniform & Parking
- Mandatory scrubs: Steele gray scrubs with facility logo (provided after confirmation)
- Gray T-shirts available for purchase at facility store
- Parking permit available (~$55/month) or daily parking ($3 for 20 hours)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background check within 30 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide checks, sex offender, federal, and education verification
- State-specific abuse/neglect registry check required
- Primary source license verification and NURSYS verification required
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement required
- Annual skills checklist required
- Drug screen within 60 days of start and updated annually (specific panel required)
- Physical exam and fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap within last 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray with TB questionnaire if positive history
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (boosters if low/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters if low/equivocal)
- Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
- COVID vaccine preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
- References: 2 work references from past 2 years (1 must be most recent employer if not current traveler)
Additional Notes
- Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and some LPNs
- Facility is a top-rated acute care hospital with a teaching affiliation and advanced research environment
- Eye exam required only for OR staff (not applicable here)
