Job Opportunity: PTA Home Health

Location

• Dover, Delaware
• Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic, primarily covering Kent County.

Employment Type

• Typical contract length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
• Weekend work and on-call requirements vary by location; discuss during interview.

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy assistant services in a home health setting.
• Average patient load: 5-6 patients per day.
• Types of visits: Start of Care, Follow Ups.
• Documentation and travel time are part of daily activities.
• Use of EMR system: HCHB.
• Productivity expectation: minimum of 32 points per week (points assigned based on visits and activities).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Delaware.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant within the last year.
• Experience working with adult patients.
• Experience in a home health setting.
• BLS certification.

Travel Experience

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must complete extensive background checks including:

  • 7-year work/living history verification.
  • Nationwide and state-specific criminal background checks.
  • Sex offender registry checks.
  • Drug screening (10-panel).
  • Fingerprinting as required by state.
• Health documents required:

  • Physical exam within 12 months.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • Proof of immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination.
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or declination.
• Must review and sign multiple compliance and policy documents prior to start, including but not limited to:

  • HIPAA and Privacy Policy
  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality agreements
  • Home Health Core Policy and Scenarios
  • Compliance training and quizzes
  • COVID-19 policy and attestation
• Personal or auto insurance policy required (must be under candidate’s name or list candidate as a driver).

References and Work History

• Two professional references required.
• Verification of at least two most recent employers or last 7 years of work history.

This position is ideal for experienced PTAs with recent adult home health experience who are comfortable with travel within a defined territory and meeting productivity expectations in a home health setting.
