Outpatient Clinic Cardiology RN

Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Seattle, Washington
• 32-week contract
• Day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Open to local, non-local, and true traveler candidates
• First-time travelers accepted
• No weekend, on-call, or floating requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• 1 year of RN experience in an outpatient cardiology clinic and triage setting
• EPIC experience

Key Responsibilities

• Triage cardiology patient calls and messages using clinic protocols and provider direction
• Assess symptoms and determine appropriate escalation
• Reinforce medication instructions ordered by providers
• Perform medication reconciliation, vital signs, pain assessment, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and patient history/allergy review
• Escalate urgent concerns such as chest pain, shortness of breath, syncope, stroke-like symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, unstable vitals, or vascular access complications

Clinical Skills and Experience

• Arrhythmia interpretation
• Cardiac arrest/CPR
• AED use
• Oxygen administration
• Altered level of consciousness assessment
• Patient education on lifestyle and medication adherence
• Follow-up phone calls
• Quality improvement initiatives

Work Environment

• Ambulatory heart and vascular clinic
• Patients may be preparing for or recovering from cardiac catheterization, PCI/stent placement, EP procedures, structural heart procedures, cardioversions, or vascular/interventional studies
• Any color scrubs allowed
