- Hours: 36 per week
- Guaranteed hours: 60 per 2-week period
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Weekends are required
- Floating is required
- Travelers should be prepared to float to telemetry units if census requires it
Unit Details
- High-acuity MICU caring for medically complex, critically ill patients
- Standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
- Ratio may increase to 4:1 for boarders waiting for transfer
- 1 CNA is scheduled per shift
- Common procedures include bedside central and arterial line placement, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and code blue response
