Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

Shift: Day shift; shifts rotate between closer and opener (5:00 pm – 5:30 am)
On-call: Weeknight and weekend on call
Patient Ratio: 1:1

- AAA repair
- TAVR
- EVAR
- Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass
- Angiogram
- Pulmonary decortication
- Ablation

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Specialty Experience: PreOp/PostOp required
Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required
Certifications:
- BLS (Required)
- ACLS (Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 1 trauma/outpatient experience
- PACU experience
- Previous charge nurse experience

Certifications & Competencies

Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable (preferred)
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required prior to start
Unit-Specific Competency Exam: Required
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required within 1 year of start and updated annually (with remediation process if needed)

Background & Compliance

7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if applicable
FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
Transcript/Diploma verification required (official transcripts only)
Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending

Health & Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption requires documentation
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining

Additional Requirements

2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership)
Employment application and skills checklist required
Annual acknowledgment of dress code and hand hygiene policy
Annual fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required
Annual review and acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies
Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually
