Job Description

• Work in a General Pediatric ICU setting.
• Required certifications: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Minimum of 2 years PICU experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification is appreciated but not required.
• Flexible working schedule to meet unit needs.
• Options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Must be able to:

  • Work at the assigned location for the full contract term.
  • Work the majority of the assigned shift.
  • Work assigned weekends.
  • Work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.

Required Experience

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience.
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted).

Certifications Required

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - appreciated but not mandatory.
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation.
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
• Background Check:

  • 7-year background check required within 60 days of start.
  • Includes alias/all names search, counties lived/worked/school, national and federal criminal searches, sex offender search, social security trace, and exclusions checks.
  • International background checks required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks within 60 days of start.
• State-specific background checks for Missouri (MO EDL and MO FCSR) within 60 days.
• Education verification as applicable.
• NURSYS Verification (RN) within 60 days of start.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing).
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required).
• Immunizations and testing:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required).
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required.
  • Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required (declinations no longer accepted for new candidates).
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required.
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
• Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start.

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within the last 2 years.
• Resume with at least 7 years of employment history, no gaps greater than 30 days.
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• Photo for badge (new candidates only).
• Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements, caregiver screening, and employment eligibility.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Summary

This travel Registered Nurse position in the Pediatric ICU requires a minimum of 2 years PICU experience, PALS and BLS certifications, and compliance with extensive background, health, and immunization requirements.
