Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Berkeley, California
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 4x8 hour day shifts with variable start times
• Option to pick up a 5th day
• Ability to float to other facilities within the system

Required Qualifications

• California RN License
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification
• Minimum 3 years infusion nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years oncology nursing experience
• Experience administering infusions, pain management, transfusion therapy, hydration, etc.

Note: If there is any discrepancy in years of experience, the higher requirement applies (3 years infusion, 2 years oncology).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years oncology experience

Certifications Required

• BLS (AHA certified, original card required)
• ACLS (AHA certified, required for many clinical areas)
• CHEMO certification (required for Oncology)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or government photo ID matching professional license
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide and sex offender searches, education verification, and others as required
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification
• Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication competency exams with minimum 80% score
• Unit-specific competency exams and core clinical training modules (must be completed prior to or shortly after start)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start including physician statement of fitness to work
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), 2 negative TB tests, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug testing (9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required annually
• COVID-19 vaccination requirements including booster doses or approved exemptions
• Annual TB questionnaire and other health screenings as required

Experience and References

• Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment
• Current and updated resume covering last 7 years of work history (gaps of 30+ days must be explained)
• Verification of 7 years work history required

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must complete facility-specific training modules and compliance documents prior to or shortly after start
• Various facility-specific policies and forms must be reviewed and acknowledged (e.g., COVID-19 preparedness, parking/uniform info, HIPAA agreements)
