Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Poway, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: 5x8 hour shifts, days; shifts may vary including days, nights, and weekends

Qualifications & Experience

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Required Experience: 2 years (higher value between 1-2 and 3-4 years is 2 years minimum)
• Preferred Experience: 3-4 years
• Education: Minimum as required by certification and/or licensure; Associate's Degree preferred
• Licenses:

  • Required: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R), AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Preferred: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification

Certifications & Training Requirements

• Mandatory Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, must carry copy at all times
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required for Radiology Tech - IR and related units
• Other certifications may be applicable depending on assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC)
• Pass/Fail competency exams and training modules assigned via LMS platform (e.g., cardiac rhythms course) with required passing scores
• HIPAA Acknowledgement and orientation completion required prior to start

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year background check including county, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS, OIG/GSA searches within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP confirming good health and free of communicable diseases
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (annual renewal for direct hires)
• Immunizations and health documents required or preferred:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year and updated annually
  • Flu vaccination or declination form required annually
  • Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination acceptable
  • COVID vaccination preferred, declination accepted with facility-specific form

Additional Requirements

• Badge photo with white background required prior to start (no selfies)
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Two professional references within 3 years from manager, supervisor, or charge RN
• Employment application required
• Must be able to work weekends and variable shifts

• This is a No Locals assignment, meaning candidates must be willing to travel to the location
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must be flexible with shift assignments including potential nights and weekends
