Job Opportunity: Laboratory Specialist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Miami, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 5 to 8 hours per day, typically 9 AM to 5 PM (flexible)
- Monday to Friday
Start Date
- Must be able to start by September
Experience Requirements
- Must have experience with cancer cases
- Must have experience with Level 3 gross specimens
- Preferred: ASCP certification (not mandatory depending on years of experience)
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for RRTs and all RN placements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) certification required for all Chemo/Oncology placements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
- Competency Exam required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Tdap vaccination or titer required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (Chest X-ray accepted within 5 years if positive PPD)
- Titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Drug testing (10 panel) within 1 year of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Background & Documentation Requirements
- Valid photo ID matching Social Security Card and RN License
- Background check within 1 year of start (SSN Trace, 7-year county residence, Nationwide Search, Sex Offender Search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Transcript/Diploma and Education Verification required
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for certain nursing roles with minimum passing score of 90%
- Skills Checklist required
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of orientation booklet and post-test (100% passing score required before start)
- Signing of confidentiality agreement, LIS Access Form, and contractor forms prior to start
- Completion of UChart Training Modules and other onboarding modules before starting
- Badge pickup at facility security with valid government-issued ID
