Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IR RN Days)

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology (IR) department with 3 labs, including neuro intervention for stroke LVO.
  • Monitor conscious sedation during MRI, CT, US, and IR cases.
  • Rotate on-call for emergent after-hours cases.
  • On-call required every 6th weekend during the contract.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty.
  • First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required).

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional certifications may be required as applicable:

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or higher if Angoff score is higher)
  • Annual Core Testing for agency/substitute staff

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
  • Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Background & Verification

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification (highest level) required
  • Work history verification for 7 years
  • State license primary source verification (NURSYS verification for RN)
  • Various federal and state checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)

Additional Information

  • Clear headshot photo required for badge
  • Complete application/resume required
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
  • Call schedule includes every 6th weekend on-call rotation
