Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Must have prior travel experience (explicitly required).
- Cardiac or Cardiac ICU experience highly considered.
- Licensed to work in Missouri (Kansas license preferred).
- Day shift: 06:55 AM – 07:30 PM.
- Covering RN duties during EPIC training for staff.
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA only; HeartCode accepted; RQI not accepted)
- PALS (AHA only; HeartCode accepted; RQI not accepted)
- ACLS (AHA only; RQI not accepted; not required for RRT or OR)
- NRP (AHA 8th Edition Advanced Certification, as required)
- TNCC (required for ER/Peds ER)
- CPI (required for Behavioral Health Techs and RNs going to Crisis Center; not required for 5 West Behavioral Health RNs)
Licensure & Verification
- Must be licensed in Missouri (KS license preferred).
- State License 1 Verification (Primary Source Verification).
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs.
- Background check within 3 months of start, including all counties worked/lived in past 7 years, sex offender search, and statewide searches for Missouri and Kansas.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 6 months.
- Missouri Highway Patrol Check required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (initial and annual).
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 PPDs or Qgold/T-Spot within 90 days).
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- Proof of vaccination or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (3 vaccines, titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted).
- Respiratory safety clearance or Respirator Questionnaire Form (not required for non-clinical).
Competency & Testing
- Pediatric pharmacology competency exam.
- Pediatric competency exam.
- Medication calculation/dosage test during orientation (100% passing required; three attempts allowed).
- Color blind testing (required for all clinical candidates).
- Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs only.
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service.
- E-Verify proof or attestation.
- Residency declaration if working on a compact license.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing (RNs only).
- Facility-specific health forms, TB questionnaire, medication review packet, and time-sensitive forms must be completed prior to or shortly after start.
- Two supervisory references or performance evaluations within 1 year of start.
- Employment application/resume.
- Pediatric skills checklist when applicable.
- Internal evaluation if employed over 2 years with the agency.
