Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts
• Schedule: Alternate weekends and holidays
• Float: Yes, between Emergency Department (ED) and ED Observation
• Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI ED with Pediatric ED inside the main ED
• Psych Center: Associated but no floating to psych required

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required in specialty
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I trauma experience (prior travel experience not explicitly required)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC Provider card required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for ER and Pediatrics
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all RNs
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for all pre-start ER RNs as of 11/5/2024
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Preferred (especially for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs)
• Other Preferred/Required Certifications:

  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – Required for Oncology (new requirement starting 3/28/2025)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for L&D, NICU, Postpartum, Nursery RNs (not specifically required for this ER role)

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to work at assigned location for the full contract term
• Ability to work the majority of assigned shift hours
• Ability to take call
• Ability to work assigned weekends
• Ability to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 60 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks within 60 days
  • International background check if candidate has traveled outside the USA in last 7 years
  • Missouri-specific background checks (MO FCSR or MO Caregiver search) required within 60 days
• Licenses & Verifications:

  • Primary source verification of state license within 60 days
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 60 days
• Health & Immunizations:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or approved exemptions for:

    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Hepatitis B series or titer
    • Varicella
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • Drug screening: Negative 7-panel within 60 days of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (not required for some non-clinical roles)
• References: Two professional references within last 2 years required
• Resume: Must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days
