Registered Nurse (ICU Nights) - Saratoga Springs, NY
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- ICU night shifts (4x12 hour shifts)
- Must be able to work through holidays and work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Able to float within skill set at manager's discretion
- Patient ratio: 1:2-3
- Local rule: Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from Saratoga Springs (specific counties excluded)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of current ICU experience (highest required years of experience)
- New York RN license in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
- Must be able to read cardiac rhythms and pass a hospital proctored rhythm identification test with >80% accuracy overall and 100% accuracy on critical rhythms
- Experience with Epic charting system
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption required
Certifications & Testing Requirements
- ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- BLS (preferably AHA or American Red Cross)
- NIH Stroke Certification (assigned if not on file)
- EKG/ECG Pass/Fail Testing:
- Must pass advanced EKG/ECG test within 72 hours of signing contract with a minimum 90% score and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Up to 3 attempts allowed with remediation and retesting process
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- PALS preferred (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required for Labor & Delivery RNs
- Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (New York State requirement)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (onsite physical required with specific forms)
- Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold test within 1 year (Tspot not accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (LabCorp required for travel)
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5th, 2024
- N95 fit test (quantitative test only accepted for 3M 1870 mask)
- Color blindness test (Ishihara’s test) required prior to start
Additional Information
- Housing is expensive in the fall; candidates are encouraged to review housing options before signing
- Must provide 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles (within 2 years)
- Various facility-specific documents and assessments required, including photo for badge, lift assessment, and HealthStream orientation modules
