Job Summary: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Harvey, Illinois

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assess acute changes in patients in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with chronic ventilator patients required
• Use and interpretation of EKG rhythm strips required (must pass EKG strip test at orientation)
• Prefer competence in initiating and maintaining cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Floating required
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Charting system: Epic
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Locals accepted
• Pending license not accepted
• Return to office restrictions: 7 days max

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Telemetry)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only (no other providers accepted)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for this position; AHA provider or AHA RQI only (no other providers accepted)

Licensure

• Active RN license in Illinois required
• Primary source verification of state license must be completed within 30 days of assignment start
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of assignment start

Compliance and Background Checks

• 7-year background check required, including aliases and multiple federal/state databases
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required (ADN or BSN and licensure)
• Fingerprinting via Illinois Health Care Worker Registry required if profession does not require an Illinois state license
• Employment verification for last 7 years required
• Skills checklist for assigned and float units required, updated annually
• Two professional references required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (3M 1860, 1870+, or 9205+ masks accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination (within 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• TB questionnaire if positive TB test
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 9-panel minimum within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for 2025-26 flu season (religious or medical exemptions require facility approval)

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge required (passport style, plain background, forward facing, no headgear)
• COVID-19 and Influenza exemption forms available but require facility approval and must be submitted at least one week prior to documentation due date
• Must comply with facility-specific compliance and background attestations if applicable
