Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Patient Population

  • MICU: 20-bed critical care unit for critically ill patients
  • Patient conditions include respiratory failure, acute/chronic kidney failure, liver failure, overdoses, septic shock
  • Multi-care level unit; RNs may care for up to five Med Surg patients

Shift & Ratios

  • 36 or 48-hour shift options
  • Ratios: 1:2-3 (days), 1:2-3 (nights)
  • Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period
  • Weekend days: Saturday and Sunday
  • Weekend nights: Friday night and Saturday night

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required in a large, urban hospital (highest requirement)
  • First-time travelers NOT accepted unless they have 2 years experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
  • Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
  • Must have EPIC charting experience
  • Drip management required on all floors
  • Must be willing to float within scope to other units as needed (including Bellevue campus)

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
  • Pending license accepted but must be in hand before start or booking delayed 6 weeks
  • State license verification and primary source verification required prior to start

Additional Requirements

  • 100% nicotine-free facility
  • Locals NOT accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)
  • Holiday work requirement: Must work 2/3 major holidays
  • Scrubs: Steele gray scrubs with facility logo mandatory
  • Background check, drug screen, and various health documents required (including immunizations, TB testing, physical exam, fit mask, etc.)
  • Annual skills checklist and references required

  • Provides care for complex and critically ill patients
  • Affiliated with a major university medical center

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs comfortable with high acuity patients, multiple certifications, and flexible floating assignments.
