Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Specialist
Location: Palo Alto, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Possible shifts include 7 AM - 3 PM on weekends and variable shifts between 7 AM - 5 PM on weekdays.
- Must be willing to work weekends, weekdays, and some evening shifts.
- Overtime may be available.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ARRT in Mammography preferred
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI certifications may be required depending on position (verify with recruiter)
- State License verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days of start
- IV Certification may be required for some MRI and CT Techs
- Other certifications may be required based on position (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior)
Background & Screening Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
- Social Security Trace with all aliases
- County searches for last 7 years
- Nationwide Sex Offender Search (within 90 days of start)
- Education verification (not required if highest education is high school)
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List as applicable
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Employment history verification for up to 7 years required with no gaps over 30 days
- Professional references required (2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Color blind exam if applicable (in-person only)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually (exceptions apply)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- General Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% (or Angoff score if higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam may be required for some units
