Job Details

  • Position involves working in an Allergy and Immunology Clinic.
  • Experience with Allergy/Immunology injections is highly preferred but not required.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, no weekends or on-call required.
  • No floating between units.
  • Locals and true travelers are welcome to apply.
  • Must commit to a 26-week contract.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Minimum Experience Required: 1 year
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Pending state license not accepted.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current Registered Nurse license valid in California.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification if applicable.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification if applicable.
  • Chemotherapy certification if applicable.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification if applicable.
  • IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other if applicable).
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) if applicable.
  • NIH Stroke Certification if applicable.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification if applicable.
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs.
  • State license copy and verification required.

Required Background Checks & Verifications

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
  • Education verification required for all candidates.
  • State-specific searches as applicable (Washington and Oregon requirements if applicable).
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination (required if onsite).
  • Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (travel candidates).

Competency & Training Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
  • Competency exams required by specialty.
  • Color Blind Testing if required by unit.
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
  • EFM training or certification required for Labor & Delivery RNs.

Facility-Specific Training & Modules

  • Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
    • Core modules for profession and region (California).
    • Specialty-specific modules if applicable (ER, L&D, ICU, etc.).
    • Annual regulatory requirements modules.
    • Epic training modules for EPIC system access.

Additional Notes

  • Interview will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
  • Candidates should review housing options in the Eureka area before applying.
  • Float policy acknowledgment may be required (though no floating expected for this position).
