Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Job Details

• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, accommodated according to traveler preference
• Unit: MS overflow / Telemetry Unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7
• High acuity patients; RNs must be comfortable managing this level of care
• Proficiency required with drips including Cardizem, Tridil, and Amiodarone
• Block booking available; every other week (EOW) required
• New travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
• Orientation every other Monday; contracts end on Tuesday pay periods
• Scrub colors: All navy or navy pants with white top

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Compact or Alabama RN license in good standing required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• NIH Stroke Certification required (completed through facility after compliance; must be current within 1 year and renewed annually)
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless documented religious or medical exemption
• Flu shot required or documented religious/medical exemption
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications may be applicable depending on unit (verify with facility)
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• License renewal proof required before start if license expires during assignment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check: 7-year criminal history, SS trace, counties, nationwide, FACIS Level 3, sex offender, education verification
• E-Verify attestation confirming work eligibility in the US
• I-9 form attestation and/or completed I-9 form
• Social Security card or last four digits confirmation
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start, updated annually; instant/rapid tests not accepted
• Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit mask test: Annual requirement within 12 months prior to start (specific approved masks only)
• Immunizations and titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references within last 12 months (up to 18 months if necessary)
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
• Completion of facility-specific modules prior to orientation (no time to complete during orientation)
• Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing (passport-type photo, no nose rings)
• Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results required prior to orientation (time sensitive)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility (50-mile radius rule; no locals allowed)
• Exact name match required between driver’s license, social security card, and RN license
• Hard deadline for compliance: 1 week prior to start date
• Orientation includes 16 non-billable hours
• COVID vaccine is voluntary but flu vaccine is mandatory unless exempted with documentation
• Facility requires all licenses expiring during assignment to be renewed before start with proof

This position offers a high-acuity telemetry nursing experience with flexible scheduling and support for new travel nurses. Compliance with all licensure, certification, and health requirements is mandatory prior to start.
