Job Description

• Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, Days (07:00 - 17:30)
• Experience Required: Electrophysiology (EP) and Cath Lab
• Call Requirement: 5 weekdays per week and 1 weekend call
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Required Clinical Experience:

  • Arrhythmia Induction
  • Cardioversion
  • Circulate Procedures
  • Insertion/Programming of AICDs (Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators)
  • Tilt Table Study
  • Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring
  • Use of Maclab for documentation in EP Lab

Required Certifications & Training

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required for all clinical starts
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required for Cath Lab, ER, ICU, IR, PACU, TELE
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), or VIP onsite training – Required for RNs working in ER and ICU; must include a physical, in-person portion within 90 days of start
• NIH Stroke Certification – Required for RNs in ER, ICU/CCU, CCL, DOU, IR, M/S, Stepdown, TELE
• Fire Card – Required for all candidates; must specify Los Angeles and have an expiration date (2-week grace period after start if not obtained prior)
• Harassment Prevention Training – 1 hour CA training for non-supervisory positions (including RNs)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – Advanced exam required prior to start for MS, MS/Tele, Tele, ICU, and ED candidates
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Required as applicable
• Competency Exams – Minimum passing score 80%, including fetal monitoring for L&D RNs

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience (7 years of work history required if applicable)
• Professional references: 2 for clinical candidates (Manager or above) validated within 2 years
• Skills checklist updated annually (not required for non-licensed workers)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, confirming fitness for duty and free of communicable disease
• Negative TB test (TSPOT, Qgold, or 2 PPDs) within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (3 dose series, positive titer, or declination)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
• Seasonal Flu and COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• Negative 7-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)

Facility & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Education verification of highest level completed
• State nursing license verification within 14 days prior to start
• Photo for badge (white background, shoulders up)
• Completion of facility-specific pre-start Oracle modules by 5 PM on first day
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start and annually (with religious exemption process if applicable)
• Interim Life Safety Measures acknowledgment prior to start

Additional Notes

• Return to Office (RTO) form must be submitted prior to contract start
• Facility will not remediate failed Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam; only one attempt allowed
• Candidates with beards for religious reasons must provide a typed religious exemption for mask fit testing
• Onsite VIP or equivalent training cannot be scheduled during the first 2 weeks of assignment

This position is ideal for experienced EP and Cath Lab RNs who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable with call responsibilities.
