Job Opportunity: Surgical Services - OR Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Ventura, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Tech (Operating Room Technician).
• Must have experience in Orthopedic (Ortho) and Neuro surgical cases.
• Robotic surgery experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required.

Work Schedule

• Day shifts only
• No on-call duties

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (acceptable alternative for OR Techs)

Required Skills

• Scrubbing
• Aseptic Technique

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form
• E-Verify or attestation
• Background Check (within 1 year, updated annually) including 7-year history and sex offender check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated annually)
• California Medi-Cal Exclusion check (within 30 days prior to start)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months, updated annually)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID vaccination series or approved exemption

Additional Notes

• No on-call required
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, and others are listed but generally not required for this OR Tech role unless specified by unit or specialty.
• Candidates must complete facility-specific documents and competency validations prior to start, including orientation attestations, confidentiality agreements, and competency presentations.
• Advanced EKG testing and trauma education requirements apply primarily to RN roles and are not specified for this OR Tech position.

This position offers a diverse surgical caseload in a well-established healthcare setting with a focus on orthopedic and neurological procedures. Ideal candidates will have solid OR Tech experience, required certifications, and the ability to work day shifts without on-call responsibilities.
