Job Opportunity: Case Manager - Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Facility Type: Acute Hospital (Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma)
Shift: 5x8 Days (Shift times vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Case Manager role in an acute care hospital setting. The position requires acute care experience and proficiency with Epic electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- License: Must have a current Alaska RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted for auto offer)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in acute care
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACM (Acute Care Management) certification preferred
- Skills:
- Epic experience required
- Acute care experience required
- Shift Requirements:
- Weekend work required (every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule)
- No on-call required
- Other:
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
- First-time travelers accepted
Work Hours & Scheduling
- Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks
- May be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks
- Only one time-off request allowed per 13-week assignment (up to 5 days)
- No holiday time off allowed for auto offer candidates

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Training & Competency Requirements
- Completion of Providence Health and Services required WorkRamp modules (annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules)
- Epic training modules completion and transcript submission required
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
Additional Notes
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Candidates must comply with all state-specific and facility-specific background checks and attestations
- No pending license acceptance for auto offer; must have active Alaska RN license
- Locals not accepted; candidate must reside at least 50 miles from facility
