Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
  • Must have Sonography and Ultrasound experience
  • EPIC experience required
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • No weekends required
  • Call on holidays required
  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ADRMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • State license preferred
  • CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including experience within the last year
  • Experience as an Echo Technologist, Sonography Technician, or Ultrasound Technologist
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment
  • Experience with ultrasound procedures
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • BLS certification
  • ARDMS certification

Additional Requirements

  • Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (with exemptions and declinations accepted)

Competency and Training Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (updated annually)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (updated annually)
  • Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) updated annually

Notes

  • This position requires a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience (higher value from all data)
  • Prior travel experience is explicitly required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
  • No weekend shifts, but holiday call is required
