Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Sonora, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervisory discretion.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.
• Required years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year ICU experience based on specialty and job title.

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in California (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required).

Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit)

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Competency exams including Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Conscious Sedation (Relias platform required)

Required Documents & Compliance

• Current picture identification (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background check within 30 days of start covering last 7 years (social security trace, county/state/federal court jurisdictions, OIG, OFAC, SAM, FACIS 3, National Sex Offender).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 90 days of start.
• Drug testing within 30 days before start.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or positive titer; declinations accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually).
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccination series, or signed declination).
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination/exemption (required during flu season).
• OSHA mandatory training (annual).
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates).
• Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams (Relias platform).
• References: 2 clinical references verified within 1 year of start.
• Complete employment application/resume with 7-year work history including gaps.

Essential Functions

• Collect and analyze patient health data.
• Develop and implement care plans.
• Coordinate care delivery and promote a safe environment.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Provide education to patients, families, and team members.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Delegate and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
